Transmission problem 1996 Honda Accord 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive. 1996 Honda Accord Not smooth changing gear. Check the throttle control cable adjustment for the.

But the cable adjustment was not enough to fix this problem. The real problem with the rincon is that the the dogs on the 'Shifter, Final' as Honda calls it, gets worn, and after a longer period with this problem, you are not able to adjust your way out of it.

I found a guide on how to change the parts that i am talking about. Only Recovery_jf620_v4.0.0.41.exe. It is not a complete guide for this problem, but you can use it as guide lines. Also read this post for better info on the problem, and how to solve it. This will take you about 3-8 hours, depending on your mechanic skills, and if you are alone, and if you got the right tools at hand. My Rincon runs with no grinding at all after this fix.

Best regards. Figured I just make a comment.

Best regards.Hey, I know this is an old Thread but you may be able to help with my issue. Did you replace your worn gears with new gears of the same originals or did you actually fit the Big Red gears. Which gear was actually worn and damaged in your transmission? Were the teeth obviously badly worn or where did you see the damage?

I've removed my gear case cover but can't see any damage to the gears.
