What I know about v4 (this from Peter Wolbink, who retained a post from the old LC forums, a post written by Richard McKeethen, is that some very good progress was made on it, including a new tool and an improved one, but that it was being written in JavaFX---almost a complete break from v3.9 We'll see about that once we get over this first hurdle.
